We often don't think about where our water comes from. If we live in a city, it comes out of the tap - heavily laced with chlorine and other chemicals - or from a bottle in the supermarket. High up in the mountains it's a different story. It's an especially dramatic story in the dry tops where it is sometimes difficult to find water until after the rains. Then by the "magic" of nature, springs and rivulets come coursing down from the watersheds to form lakes and streams of beautiful, pure water.

Most people see these high places so rarely - if ever - except on television. We need to remember how important they are for our wellbeing.
