Original Oils: " Green Green " Outback Landscape.

This is the kind of sculptural landform study I really get a kick out of, by exploring the creeks and rivers and their process of sculpting the land.
A few years ago I was flying down to Auckland from home when I saw this wonderful piece of scenery appearing below. Fortunately I had my camera in my hand though this is definitely not a "copy" of the photo I took.
At the same time, it is a commentary on how we have changed the face of our landscape and turned much of it into a green pasture monoculture - which of course, is what New Zealand is known for.     Often though we forget that this is not how it was originally and that by removing the forest cover, the stability of the land has been interfered with.   All credit to the serious farmers among us, most of whom go to great lengths to care for their land and pastures.
