This scene is close to the Ruamahanga Riverln the south-eastern end of the Tararua Ranges. All of my wilderness paintings are of real places that I have been to in the New Zealnd outdoors. The large ferns are The Black Mamaku - Cyathea medullaris - the biggest of our treeferns, and very characteristic of our bush. This Original painting is Acrylic on board, size 7in x 8.5 in.
