Original Acrylic: " Coopers Beach " I painted this "en plein air" at Coopers Beach, Doubtless Bay in January of 2008. I haven't painted out in the open for years, and with my mom's illness, I hadn't even been to a beach in years, so I'm grateful to Len and Anne for deciding that that's what we should do one afternoon during their short visit. Len wanted Anne to do some painting. She and I found a nice bit of shade under some of the great pohutukawa trees that are such a feature of Coopers Beach. This was the result - probably under an hour's work - back to the reality of getting something down on paper fast, with members of the public passing by and stopping for a look.   I must do it more often, now. Like "Beach Coast" I had this one for sale on cards in Mangonui, and it sold well.
