Welcome to Wild New Zealand!     This site speaks for all the wild places of the world and all of wild nature that supports us and our planet in a million ways we don't even realise.     Wherever you come from in this whole, wide, beautiful world - this is especially for you:

New Year Greetings from New Zealand

This image is a composite design which uses as its background the shell of the NZ Paua or Abalone, overlaid with the symbolic Koru which is derived from the curling spiral of the unfolding fern frond. Before you look at my art, here is my message:

With our science and technology we humans think we know everything and can control everything - far from it.     Right now we are barely scraping the surface of understanding how the great web of life on earth fits together - and we have already messed it up, big time.

These paintings, drawings and etchings come from my love of the wild places of New Zealand, and the plants, animals and birds that live there.   Most of these works were produced around the edges of a fulltime work schedule as a government lawyer and law tutor.     Some were commissioned for publications or private homes.

This is my real heartland work.     Now that I live in a place that inspires me, with the time to develop the art that runs in my veins, I want to use it to make us all more aware of the wonder of life on our Planet Earth before it is too late.

The images on this site are a tribute to ALL the wild places of the world, and the living things that manage to survive in them. May we gain the wisdom and commitment to look after our wonderful planet in the manner it deserves.

"Again you shall see
The waiting stars and the bright white quarter moon,
The motionless trees and the secret drumming torrent,
And feel the grip of the incarnation,
The spell of the hills, of the woods."
